Meet local author Mark Zimmerman.  Mark is a Kirtland resident and a native of the Cleveland area. He is the morning drive host for Heartfelt Radio at 91.9fm, with studios in Barberton.

Eli – The Phenom’s Story is Mark’s first novel.  The cover was designed by his daughter, Anna Zimmerman-Chew a 2005 graduate of Kirtland High School.  The 1940s style cartoon illustrations were drawn by Allen Markovic, also a 2005 graduate of KHS.

In 1946 Bill Veeck, owner of the 5th place Cleveland Indians is looking for a 'diamond in the rough' to keep the fans interested while he builds a team.  He finds Eli Weaver, a 19-year-old farmer who plays baseball.

Watch what happens when a young man with an 18th century upbringing steps into the 20th century world.  Mark will have copies of the book for sale.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Kirtland Public Library.  It is free and seating is limited.  Please register for this event.
